Keeping Our Streets and Roads Safe

Tougher sentences and more police on our streets, I worked hard to keep our streets safe.

Rachel with Redditch Police Officers

When I was out and about talking to residents on the doorstep as I regularly did, crime and anti-social behaviour were consistently the top two issues constituents raised with me.

During my time as your MP, I voted for the biggest increase in police funding since 2010, supported tougher sentences and measures to equip police officers with the tools they need to protect themselves.

Police officer numbers in West Mercia have hit their highest level on record. There are now 2,494 officers serving in West Mercia after 330 officers were recruited as part of the Conservative Government’s mission to boost police numbers by 20,000 across England and Wales.

We're also getting a new Police and Fire Hub in the heart of Redditch which is currently under construction on Birmingham Road. It will not only ensure better value for taxpayers’ money, but it will also strengthen joint responses to emergencies.

On this section of my website you can catch up with the work I did to keep our streets safe.
