Rachel has welcomed the opening of a brand-new pump track in Redditch.

Located between the BMX track and the skatepark in Matchborough, the pump track is now open and is already in use.

The new facility, open to the public all year round, has been designed for riders of all ages and skill levels.

It’s just one of the latest investments delivered by Conservative-controlled Redditch Borough Council.

In recent years the Conservative-led Borough Council has invested in playgrounds across the town, including at Arrow Valley Country Park, Morton Stanley Park (which includes a new café), Mayfields Park, Birchfield Road and Forge Mill.

The Borough Council also invested in a brand-new Multi-Use Games Area in Greenlands and a new outdoor gym at Abbey Stadium.

More new parks are in the pipeline, with playgrounds planned in Crabbs Cross, Webheath and at Terry's Playing Field in Abbeydale.

Rachel said: “There was definitely a need for more things for young people in Redditch to do, so I know this brand-new pump track will be welcomed.

“As I saw for myself when I popped down to see the pump track, young people were out with their friends and enjoying the outdoors. Not a single one of them was on their phone which was great to see, especially at a time when phones and games consoles increasingly dominate their lives.

“I’m proud of the Conservative-controlled Borough Council’s record of investing in new parks and facilities across our town and I look forward to seeing this continue.”
