Rachel Maclean, MP for Redditch County, has picked two winners whose designs will be used on her Christmas cards this year.
She received around 100 entries from several schools in the constituency, but in the end found it hard to choose between two entries from pupils at Woodfield Middle School – so decided to have half her cards made to one design and half to the other!
The victors were Years 7 and 8 pupils Mia Marie Tonge and Mia Dyson.
Rachel said: “The two Mias were very worthy winners and are clearly talented artists. The entries were both great but for different reasons, one depicting a colourful and cheery Big Ben, while the other was a Christmas tree made of words that capture the spirit of Redditch – all very clever.
“I popped into Woodfield last Friday to congratulate them both and it was a pleasure to meet them. Their designs will now be sent to hundreds of my contacts – people from businesses, schools, charities, councils, MPs, constituents and many others who I have had the pleasure of meeting since becoming Member of Parliament over the last six months or so.”
The girls’ families will also be given the chance to visit the Palace of Westminster as part of their prize.
