Rachel joined with local residents to take part in the Big Help Out.
To mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation, yesterday (May 8th) thousands of organisations across the country got together to give local residents the chance to help out in their own communities.
As part of the Big Help Out, Rachel joined the Ecochurch gardening team at Hanbury Church.
The village’s MP was put to work planting wildflowers and bushes for a hedge to attract insects. She also cleared some branches from the ancient yew to help it keep its strength for the next few centuries.
Rachel said:
“I really enjoyed lending a hand at the church I worship in to keep it looking beautiful! At least the rain will help everything we’ve planted to grow.
“The Big Help Out was an excellent opportunity for residents to experience volunteering in their local community, and I certainly hope to continue volunteering.”
