Rachel has welcomed a £34 million funding boost for Worcestershire’s schools.

The total funding for schools in the county will rise from £498.6 million in 2022/23 to £532.6 million in 2023/24.

There is also additional Government funding of £14 million, announced in the Autumn Statement, to support financial pressures within the county’s schools.

Ever since she was first elected, Rachel has made lobbying for more funding for Redditch’s schools a top priority.

As well as successfully securing more funding, Arrow Vale High School has also been selected as one of the latest 239 schools that will be rebuilt or substantially refurbished as part of the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme.

Rachel said:

“As a proud product of the state school system myself, ensuring everyone, no matter their background, has a first class education is personal for me.

“The significant increase in the Schools Block Dedicated Schools Grant this year demonstrates that I’m delivering on another promise that I’ve made to my constituents. It will ensure young people in Redditch continue to receive a first class education which will unlock their potential.”
