The whole of government is stepping up a gear and increasing the pace of our preparations as we get ready to leave the EU on 31 October, implementing the democratic mandate of the British people. You do not have to be a supporter of Brexit to acknowledge that there is a pressing need to ensure businesses are ready. It of course remains the government’s ambition to secure a deal – but we also need to be ready to leave without one.

The government’s preparations for no-deal will be more open than before, giving the business community the confidence to wave the flag for Britain and to seize the myriad of opportunities that lie ahead. This will also ensure that businesses are taking the vital steps necessary, so they have fully prepared for the UK leaving the EU on 31 October, whatever the circumstances.

The government will shortly launch a new multi-million pound communications and engagement campaign to get the country ready for Brexit. The campaign will span all channels including nationwide advertising, toolkits and face to face events and roadshows, working with local partners. GOV.UK will continue to be the central point to access the latest information, including step-by-step guides and business-friendly material.

I would encourage all businesses in Redditch County to find out more information about the Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy’s business forums which can be attended in person or via webinar.

Businesses can also subscribe to an e-bulletin which provides information on upcoming events. For more information please contact sed@beis.gov.uk.
