“I’m aware of supply issues at petrol stations in Redditch. I understand this has been caused by environmental campaigners, such as Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion, who blockaded oil refineries and depots, stopping tankers getting in and out.

“The disruption to the supply chain at forecourts is expected to only last a few days and then supplies will get back to normal. I will continue to monitor the situation closely.

“I’m passionate about protecting our planet for future generations – but blocking refineries and disrupting people’s lives is not the way you go about asking people to support your cause.

“The Government is taking action through the Police, Crime, Courts and Sentencing Act to enhance the police’s ability to manage protests, to allow essential services to continue unabated and to ensure that the day-to-day lives of the overwhelming majority are not disrupted by a selfish minority.”
