Rachel has praised the efforts of teachers during the coronavirus pandemic following her visit to St Bede’s Catholic Middle School.
Last Friday (July 10th), Rachel visited the Holloway Lane school and met with Head of School, Luke Payton, to discuss how the school had operated during the pandemic, as well as their plans to welcome back all pupils in September.
Rachel also spoke to Year Six pupils who have been back in the classroom since the beginning of June as part of the Government’s plan to get pupils in key year groups back to school.
Rachel said: “Thank you to Mr Payton and pupils for a warm and positive welcome to St Bede’s. It was great to be able to thank them all for the amazing work they’ve done during this pandemic.
“St Bede’s remained open for children of key workers all through the lockdown and they’re fully prepared to re-open for all pupils in September with a very positive approach.
“I’d also like to praise the school for all the work they’ve done to support pupils in key transition years, whether they’re moving to middle school in September or heading to high school, St Bede’s have really supported these children and I know parents have appreciated the efforts the school has gone too.”
