Rachel has called on the new county highways chief to re-examine the issue of installing crash barriers along all of the town’s dual carriageways.

In a letter to Cllr Rouse, the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport on Worcestershire County Council, the town’s MP said that it shouldn’t take a serious or fatal crash for the County Council to take action.

Rachel has been working on this issue for a number of years now, having previously met with Cllr Rouse’s predecessor on a number of occasions.

Rachel said:

“This is an issue I’ve tried to make progress on for a number of years now, but now Cllr Rouse is in this role, I hope he will look at this with a fresh pair of eyes and re-examine the need for these crash barriers.

“I made a promise that I would do everything I could to get crash barriers installed along all of Redditch’s dual carriageways – and I intend to fulfil this promise.

“I will do everything I can to support Cllr Rouse in this work, and I know he will have the whole of Redditch behind him too.”
