Following the publication of November’s UK labour market statistics, Rachel said:

“This month’s claimant count data is extremely encouraging as it shows the unemployment rate in Redditch has fallen for the ninth month in a row.

“Redditch’s unemployment rate has also been consistently lower than the UK average – demonstrating how resilient our town’s economy is.

“The claimant count data is another sign that the Government’s Plan for Jobs is working. Since the plan was launched last year, almost 1,000 people in Redditch have got back into work.

“These aren’t just numbers. These are real people who are back in work and providing for themselves and their family.

“I will continue to work with the Government as we develop a high-skill, high-wage, high-productivity economy here in Redditch.”
