On Prime Minister Johnson’s first full day in office yesterday (July 25th), Rachel used her first question to the new Prime Minister to press him on the Alexandra Hospital.
In his first speech on the steps of 10 Downing Street shortly after becoming Prime Minister on Wednesday (July 24th), Boris Johnson announced plans to upgrade 20 hospitals across the country.
With the Alexandra Hospital and local health services Rachel’s top priority, she took the opportunity to use her first question to the Prime Minister to ask him to add the Alex and Worcestershire Royal Hospital to his list of 20 hospitals to upgrade.
“I started as I mean to go on by ensuring our new Prime Minister is aware that the Alex hospital is a top priority for me, but also a top priority for the people of Redditch.
“On his first full day in office, I made absolutely sure I was at the front of the line fighting for our town’s hospital. The Alex and the Worcestershire Royal must be number one and number two on the Prime Minister’s list of hospital upgrades.
“I will continue to fight for the first class health services my constituents deserve.”
