Rachel met with the Save the Alex team on Wednesday (May 29th) and agreed on the need to keep up the pressure on local health bosses.

Following her calls for maternity and in-patient paediatric services to be returned to the Alexandra Hospital, Rachel met with Ian Johnson and Sharon Harvey to discuss her decision to campaign for services to be returned.

Speaking following their meeting, Rachel said:

“I’ve always had a lot of respect for Ian and Sharon. They’re straight-talking and they tell me exactly what they think. Our meetings are always constructive and they both have so much common sense and so much heart for our local health services.

“Residents expect to see their MP reaching out and working with key stakeholders in Redditch. Save the Alex and myself both want what’s best for our town.“Following our meeting, we all agreed on the need to keep up the pressure on Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Redditch deserves first-class health services. We’ve been waiting far too long for improvements. I will continue to make the case for services to be returned to the Alex.”
