Following the resignation of Prime Minister Theresa May on Friday (May 24th), Rachel said:

The Prime Minister has shown nothing but resilience and dignity as she served this country in the national interest.

“As she leaves office, she has a number of achievements to be proud of. I’ve been fortunate to have seen first-hand her support for women in public life. As a member of her government in my role as a PPS in the Home Office and the Government Equalities Office, I have worked on her flagship policies of ending domestic abuse and tackling the gender pay gap. These are starting to make a tangible difference and the impetus must continue.

“I want to thank her for the support she has shown to me as a woman in the Conservative Party and acknowledge the role that she personally has played through her ground-breaking work setting up Women to win, which enabled me to become an MP and serve my country.

“Now is a good opportunity for us to look to the future, deliver Brexit, honour the referendum result and restore trust in our politics.”
