As part of her commitment to unlock Redditch’s full potential, Rachel has met with the Local Growth Minister to discuss the town’s bid for funding from the Future High Streets Fund.
Rachel is working closely with Conservative leadership team on Redditch Borough Council as a bid is developed for a share of the £675 million Future High Streets Fund.
This fund was announced in the Chancellor’s Budget last October to help towns transform their local high streets into modern vibrant community hubs.
It’s hoped the Future High Streets Fund will enable councils to implement bold new visions to transform their town centres and make them fit for the future with co-funding to consolidate properties on the high street, improve transport and access into town centres and converting retail units into new homes.
And with Redditch Borough Council currently developing a bid for a share of this funding, Rachel met with the Minister for Local Growth, Jake Berry, on Tuesday (February 12th) to discuss the town’s bid.
Rachel said: “I want Redditch to be at the forefront of Ministers’ minds when they decide which town’s will be receiving a share of the Future High Streets Fund. That’s why I met with the Local Growth Minister to state Redditch’s case and to see if there’s any support he can offer as Redditch Borough Council develops its bid.
“This funding will help our Conservative team on Redditch Borough Council push forward their ambitious regeneration plans for our town centre and to unlock Redditch’s full potential.”
